Springfield provides safe, supported accommodation for women affected by domestic abuse and violence. It also provides an outreach and community service. St Peter's, and many other churches in this area, supported it.

Springfield House offers a unique service in that it is the only dedicated residential service for women at risk of domestic abuse in Cumbria. Springfield provides a safe and secure environment for vulnerable women aged eighteen upwards. Women referred to our service are usually emerging from coercive and controlling relationships which have damaged them

  • physically
  • emotionally and
  • psychologically.

As a result, they may have little understanding of how to develop respectful relationships. Springfield provides a warm and supportive environment within which women can rebuild their lives and self esteem, learn new skills and begin to be involved in the wider community in a positive way.
